The US-based graduate student has now shut down his blog and apologised unreservedly for his defamation of A*STAR's scholarship system and policies, ending the possible legal action. But the continued threat of defamation lawsuits in cyberspace, as in the traditional media, highlights the lack of freedom of expression in the city-state.
