April 2005 | Risk SummaryFilipinos are growing increasingly dissatisfied with their president, according to opinion polls. Forty-eight percent of people surveyed by the Social Weather Stations, a local pollster, said they were 'dissatisfied' with President Gloria Arroyo's performance compared with only 36% who said they were 'satisfied'. Inflation, poverty and corruption were the main reasons for the president's declining popularity. Arroyo's net satisfaction rating of -12% is the second worst since she assumed the presidency in January 2001.
