October 2004 | Macroeconomic ForecastsIndonesia's current-account surplus narrowed to just US$185mn during the first half of the year from US$3,369mn a year earlier. A smaller trade surplus, which declined by 26.5% to US$8.64bn amid double-digit import growth, was responsible for the narrower surplus. Indonesia's current account will narrow to just 1.7% of GDP in 2004, according to BMI forecasts.
