Singapore's new prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, son of Singapore's founding father Lee Kuan Yew, has named his father 'minister mentor' in Singapore's new cabinet. The new cabinet line-up should ensure continued political stability and policy continuity in the South East Asian city state, which has just completed only its second political transition since its formation in 1965. Singapore is due to hold its next general election in 2007, where Lee Hsien Loong will almost certainly be re-elected.
