August 2004 | Macroeconomic ForecastsIndonesia's economy slowed during the first quarter of 2004. Real GDP expanded by 4.3% y-o-y compared with the previous quarter's revised growth of 5.0%. Consumer spending fuelled growth during the three-month period but net exports weighed down on aggregate demand. Our forecast of 4.5% real GDP growth holds.
