Singapore's economic outlook is getting brighter. Buoyant global demand for the city-state's key exports of computer components and technology goods due to a strong recovery in the trade-reliant economy's major markets is boosting activity in the manufacturing sector and, thanks partly to a rise in tourism, in the services sector. Real GDP will rise by 7.0% this year unless the dole queues, which are still long, prove to be a bigger economic burden than expected.
