July 2006 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: The latest government estimates show that growth in the first half of 2006 was 7.4% y-o-y. This is lower than the 7.6% recorded in the first half of last year, and falls short of the government's 8.0% target for the year. The external sector is however performing well, with exports expected to grow by 25.7% in H206, which is much faster than the Trade Ministry's 18.5% projection for the year.
