The New Straits Times has reported that the 131 Thai Muslims suspected of having been involved in insurgency before fleeing across the border to Malaysia, will be returned to Thailand in accordance with an agreement reached between the authorities in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Although the details were not in the public domain at the time of writing, the agreement – subject to official corroboration – represents a welcome improvement in Thai-Malaysia diplomatic relations.
