BMI are forecasting economic growth in Thailand this year at 5.0%, compared to our earlier forecast of 5.3%. Growth in the first quarter of the year is expected to be especially hard hit because of the tsunami, while consumer and investor confidence have also been hard hit by the ongoing violence in the south of the country.
