Thaksin Under Growing Pressure
April 2004 | Political Risk AnalysisPrime Minister Thaksin is coming under increasing domestic pressure following his government's clumsy handling of the recent outbreak of bird flu in Thailand and the continuing violence in the south of the country. BMI View: In response to the criticism, Thaksin has announced a cabinet reshuffle ahead of general elections which must be held by January 2005, for which he remains favourite.
