February 2004 | Macroeconomic ForecastsLaos is forecast to enjoy growth of around 6% in 2004. The economy should benefit from an improving global outlook, and strong growth in neighbouring countries, especially Thailand and Vietnam. Economic development, however, continues to be held back by the uncertain political environment, which continues to hamper large-scale foreign investment.
