Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse's government is taking its first step towards crafting a power-sharing plan aimed to arrive at a "home grown," political solution to Sri Lanka's ethnic conflict. On 10 July, Rajapakse invited a representative of each political party taking part in the All-Party Conference to examine devolution proposals for resolving the ethnic conflict for an inaugural meeting.
