June 2005 | Business Environment OutlookBangladesh is courting international investors, after reeling under the double blow of the devastating floods in 2004 and the expiry of the decades-old system of exports quotas this year. Though the impoverished country remains largely dependent on foreign assistance, the energy sector provides a new avenue to future prosperity and the government is seeking foreign assistance in exploration of the huge untapped gas reserves.
