India And Pakistan: The Economic Case For Closer Ties

The political case for closer relations between nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan has been well-made. South Asia today is one of the world's most dangerous nuclear flashpoints and the possible consequences of a fourth war between the two long-time rivals could be disastrous. But there is also a compelling economic case to be made for New Delhi and Islamabad putting aside nearly 60 years of mutual distrust, suspicion and enmity. Closer economic ties would bring benefits to both countries.
