January 2006 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWe estimate that China’s economy grew by 9.8% last year, and will grow by 8.6% in 2006. These forecasts represent major upgrades from last month, and were made after the Chinese government announced in early January that the economy is in fact much bigger and has been growing much faster than previously thought.
