Multilateral talks on North Korea's nuclear weapons programme have reached an agreement for the reclusive state to dismantle its atomic weapons in exchange for security guarantees, economic aid and increased diplomatic recognition. This historic joint statement, forged during the fourth round of talks between the five main regional powers and North Korea, came as hope was fading that a deal would be reached.
