Israel Rows With US Over China Arms

The countries are holding a 'discreet dialogue' (in the words of the Foreign Ministry) to resolve a dispute over an arms deal Israel has signed with China, but talks do not appear to be nearing closure: although Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom publicly apologised to the US in June for the controversial deal, the Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz later cancelled a planned trip to Washington in August, in a sign that all is not well with the negotiations.
