Macroeconomic Forecast Hong Kong

July 2005 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

Hong Kong will grow by 5.7% in 2005, according to BMI's latest forecasts, down slightly from last month's forecast of 5.8%. Although growth in Hong Kong is expected to slow compared with 2004, it is holding up much better than elsewhere in the region. This is in large part due to Hong Kong's close economic integration with the economy of mainland China, which is set to enjoy another year of supercharged growth in 2005. Hong Kong does, however, remain vulnerable to a slowdown in the mainland, which is expected next year.
