BMI is currently forecasting growth in Hong Kong this year at 5.3%, down from the 8.1% that it recorded in 2004. Our forecast is based on the assumption that growth in China, which has been driving the Hong Kong economy, slows. Growth is set to remain relatively robust, however, as tourists from mainland China continue to visit the territory, providing a boost to Hong Kong's retail, restaurant and hotel sectors
