Tech Slump Reaffirms Bearish Regional Outlook

Tech exporters in Asia are presently experiencing weak demand and forward-looking indicators do not point towards a near-term recovery. Chinese import demand remains lethargic while Japanese and Korean machinery and semiconductor exports continue to falter. While we may see some near-term respite from new product launches pipelined for the end of the year, we remain fundamentally bearish on the sector, and consequently the regional economy as a whole through
