May 2012 | Ratings UpdatePhilippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario said that the Philippines has pulled out its biggest warship out of a standoff with Chinese vessels in the disputed South China Sea. However, Rosario has not provided any explanation for pulling out the navy ship, which was stationed within the Philippine territory off Scarborough Shoal with an aim to arrest Chinese fishermen who were caught fishing in the region. Rosario confirmed that a third Chinese maritime vessel has joined the two Chinese surveillance ships that have been positioned at the shoal since April 10. The Philippine plan to arrest the fishermen was stopped by the two Chinese surveillance vessels.
