Instead, the PTP will allow pressure groups, particularly the 'Red Shirts', to spearhead new efforts to amend the constitution. According to 'Red Shirt' leader Payap Panket, the group is gathering signatures to push for its constitutional amendment bill to be submitted to parliament. He added that many 'Red Shirt' supporters nationwide are ready to support the drive. We caution that tensions could escalate over the coming months.
