BMI View: Kim Jong Un's appointment as Supreme Commander of the North Korean People's Army (KPA) confirms that he is on track to succeed his late father Kim Jong Il in other formal positions of power. Nonetheless, we reiterate that due to his youth and inexperience, he will share authority as the front-man for a collective leadership. This suggests continuity in domestic and foreign policy for the foreseeable future.
