BMI View: 2012 looks set to be a busy year for the Korean Peninsula, owing to several major politically significant anniversaries in the North, elections in the South and the US, and a leadership change in China. Even if nothing changes in 2012 itself, these events could set the scene for greater transformation over the coming years, although we caution that Pyongyang will retain its hardline policies.
