The governments of Turkmenistan and China are to hold the first meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese committee to enhance bilateral cooperation in various economic sectors, according to an official Turkmen source. The two countries are carrying out several projects in various sectors including chemicals and fuel & energy. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov will make an official visit to Beijing this year, which will finalise an agreement to raise Turkmen fuel supplies and the supply of 60bn cubic metres of gas annually to China. Nearly 40 enterprises in Turkmenistan are making use of Chinese capital.
