May 2011 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: Although North Korean heir-apparent Kim Jong Un failed to receive a new post in April, we believe his support base should be reinforced by a group of relatively younger officials who have emerged as 'princelings' of the regime. However, we maintain that Kim is unlikely to enjoy full executive powers even if he formally assumes the leadership. Meanwhile, as expected, former US president Jimmy Carter failed to extract concessions from Pyongyang over the nuclear issue.
